What we've been doing

Like I said in my last blog, we have been super busy latley. We have been preparing and getting ready for the teams to come on Monday, June 20 (My Golden Birthday)! We have been working on certain projects such as dramas, songs, crafts, rules video, etc. Some of us planned an injustice night which we will be turning the base into a refugee camp. This night is suppose to be a very intense night. They will be going through certain opstacles to stay well. Some will have shelter, food, water, passports and some will have none. This night is to show them how this really happens around the world. Over the weekend we went out to eat at a nice restaurant for a guy's birthday. After that we went shopping for a while.

Yesterday we started off our day by praying for each other. We drew names out of a hat and went off to pray for that person. I had Miguel and Nick had me. God told Nick to tell me that I was here for a reason and to help people, that I need to trust God and he has a plan for my life. It was great to here God speak to Nick and him share it with me. This night we went into town and went to a carnival, it was fun.

Three days ago a women who was drunk came to the base and had a little girl who was about 3 years old with her. This drunk woman said her mom asked her to watch the daughter for an hour and they never came back for her. It has been 6 days today that the mom or dad have not returned for this little girl. The drunk lady asked us to take care of her, because she can't help her because she is homless and an alcoholic. This little girl did not eat for 4 days, have a shower or have her diaper changed. The older adults here on staff took her and fed her, changed her, and bathed her and also gave her some new shoes and clothes. The drunk lady said she would bring her back the next day and never did. We have unfortunately not seen her since. The little girl's parents were very poor and the dad abused them. We also know that this little girl was living in a junk yard with this alcoholic lady. Please keep her in your prayers and that she returns or we can find her. It is such a sad story.
This is a picture taken from the roof where we ate.
